The Executives in Action crew seems to have the touch when it comes to having outstanding speakers for their Book & Breakfast events. They had “The Power of Habit”’s Charles Duhigg in and just last year it was “Argo”’s Tony Mendez. He may not have looked like Ben Affleck, but he lived a moment in history that Ben only played.
Word has just arrived that the speaker has been selected for this year’s event at the Dallas Country Club on Friday, February 13. It will be Greg McKeown, author of “Essentialism – The Disciplined Pursuit of Less.”
Here’s some background info on Greg. While he was born in London, he’s now an American citizen and earned his BA in Communication from Brigham Young University and MBA from Stanford University. Not shabby. But there’s more.
He’s worked with the high and mighty of Silicon Valley, served as a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum, is considered a leading social activator and most recently spoke at SXSW, interviewed former VP Al Gore at the Annual Conference of the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland and received “a personal invitation from Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway, to speak to his Annual Invocation Conference.”
Greg’s spent 15 years researching what “keeps driven, capable people from breaking through to the next level.” And the answer will surprise you. What’s the answer? You’ll have to:
- Buy “Essentialism – The Disciplined Pursuit of Less”
- Attend “Book & Breakfast” or
- Both of the above.
Recommendation? #3. Read the book and attend the event all prepared to go beyond the pages.
BTW, when it comes to speaking to a group, Greg is like a great cup of coffee. What a marvelous way to start the day and get some tips on breaking through to that next level.
