Since its first fundraiser back in 1952, there have been 64 women who have chaired the Crystal Charity Ball. (For math majors that doesn’t make sense unless you realize that CCB Founder the late Nancy Chandler chaired it twice.)
Back to the CCB former chairs who have provided $143,392,064 for Dallas children’s charities over the decades. Of those 64 gals, 45 are still alive and kicking and on Thursday, May 10, it appeared as if almost all were in attendance at the annual CCB Former Chairmen’s Dinner at Deedie Rose’s Pump House.
According to 2018 CCB Chair Claire Emanuelson, this was one of the largest turnouts in memory. And what a turnout it was with the likes of Barbara Varel, Lyda Hill and Sistie Stollenwerck, all of whom chaired the legendary gala back in the 1970s.
