It’s official! As posted earlier, Nikki and Crayton Webb will chair the 15th Annual A Night of Light on Thursday, November 15, with Gillian Breidenbach serving as honorary chair. It will benefit CNM Connect. Whoa! What’s CNM Connect? It was formerly known as The Center for Nonprofit Management, but that was a mouthful. Regardless, the mission stays the same — “To strengthen communities by connecting and engaging nonprofits and other stakeholders through leadership, management expertise and outcomes technology.”
According to Bank of America Senior VP Enterprise Business and Community Engagement Gillian, “It’s a privilege to serve as honorary chair for A Night of Light, as this event celebrates the groups and individuals who make North Texas so great. Bank of America has a long-standing relationship with CNM Connect, and we are committed to supporting their efforts to connect North Texas nonprofits with the leaders in our community who together can help create a better future for us all.”
Now that the leadership is place, the applications are being prepared for folks to submit their nominations for the Awards of Excellence. They’ll be up for filling in on Wednesday, July 1, so don’t start looking for them yet. But do start thinking about whom you would put up for one of the following categories:
- Nonprofit of the Year – Presented to the nonprofit organization that has best implemented a program/project clearly focused on advancing its mission to address a community need.
- Nonprofit CEO of the Year – Presented to the nonprofit CEO/ executive director who has best demonstrated exemplary leadership and vision.
- Nonprofit Board Leader of the Year – Presented to the board chairperson or board member who has best contributed to the long-term impact of the nonprofit that he or she serves and whose leadership exhibits best practices in nonprofit governance.
- Nonprofit Communicator of the Year, in Honor of Robert Miller – Presented to the nonprofit organization that has best used a communications program/campaign to successfully advance its mission.
- Corporation of the Year – Presented to the corporation that best models good corporate citizenship and socially responsible partnerships.
After the July 31st deadline for nominations, “an independent panel of judges will review and select the Awards of Excellence entries.” In September the finalists will be revealed and the “winners” will be announced at the fundraiser. In addition to taking a bow, the awardees will receive “a $5,000 cash award as well as a $2,500 scholarship toward CNM services.”
