It was back on Tuesday, March 14, when, after a year and a month serving as Texas Woman’s Foundation (TXWF) president/CEO, Miki Woodard resigned. This past summer Foundation Chief Strategy Officer Dena Jackson was named interim CEO, while a nationwide search got underway for a permanent president/CEO.

Now TXWF Board Chair Carrie Freeman Parsons has reported that, “While still in the early stages, we are seeing progress in our CEO search with Victory Search Partners. The position description is near completion, and the active search will begin in the new year.”

But the new year will also see the departure of Dena, who “is ready to explore what’s next.”

In reporting Dena’s decision to leave, Carrie said she has been a “shining example of perseverance and dedication to the Foundation through her 12-year tenure, focused on supporting women and girls in our community.”

As Dena prepares to leave TXWF next month, Hattie Hill Enterprises President/CEO/TXWF Board Member Hattie Hill will assume the role of executive-in-residence.

Most recently Hattie retired from her position as the president/CEO of the T.D. Jakes Foundation.

Carrie added, “Hattie knows the organization well, and is the perfect fit during this transition period to continue our momentum on which our next CEO can build. Dena will work hand-in-hand with Hattie throughout January to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.”
