Friday the 13th is up ahead. Now, some folks feel a little antsy and may even stay homebound. But others will be rise and shining bright and early to get control of the day.
First stop on their day’s agenda will be meeting and talking with New York best-selling author Greg McKeown at the Executives in Action’s Book & Breakfast.
While his book, “Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less,” may sound real hifalutin, it’s an amazing theory — “we should pursue only those things that are truly important — and eliminate everything else.”
Greg didn’t just dream up this idea on his own. No, siree. He interviewed all types of folks who realized that by saying, “Yes!” to every request, they weren’t doing the right thing. To hear Greg tell of the people he met and the lessons that he learned just might be life-changing for guests, who feel themselves overwhelmed by requests and responsibilities.
But if your life is peachy keen and you have all your ducks in a row, then you might as well sleep in. But if you want to re-examine your life strategy for greater fulfillment, then plan on being at the Dallas Country Club at 8 a.m. Friday. Oh, and make sure you have a reservation.
